Dr Farrah Othman is a specialist cardiologist with a particular interest in cardiometabolic disease — the overlap between diabetes, weight, blood pressure, cholesterol and heart disease — and in cardiovascular disease in women and younger adults. At The Endocrine & Wellbeing Clinic she works alongside our endocrinologists so that heart and metabolic risk are assessed and managed as one problem, with a single coordinated plan shared with your GP.

Dr Othman is an interventional and general cardiologist, with accreditation in CT coronary angiography reporting. She received her fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) in 2021 and has specialist recognition with Medicare and unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a cardiologist. She completed her cardiology training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, followed by a two-year high-volume interventional coronary fellowship at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth, Western Australia. She has expertise in complex coronary interventions, cardiometabolic disease, preventative cardiology and cardiovascular disease in women.

Dr Othman is passionate about education, in particular simulation-based training in advanced life support, and has been actively involved as a lecturer at the University of Newcastle and the University of Sydney throughout her career.

Dr Othman is committed to forming a partnership with her patients, empowering them to understand and manage their chronic conditions. Her priority is helping patients return safely and with confidence to an active and healthy life. A keen long-distance runner and cyclist, she practises what she preaches. She understands and speaks basic Arabic (Levantine dialect).
